Make-over, Cards

Okay, I must be losing my mind…sometimes a “finished” card calls out to me, over and over telling me “I’m not done, re-do me, GIVE ME A MAKE-OVER!!” The two cards in today’s post have been doing just that to me! As they were they were each just okay… nothing fabulous, not quite right. After confirmation from my BFF (who gently said, they just don’t seem quite… d.o.n.e.” After contemplating the issue ~ to leave as is, or embellish ~ 'To further embellish' won out!

So, you’ve seen these cards in previous postings on my blogs. And, in today’s post I’m uploading the BEFORE and AFTER. Didn’t do a lot more to either of them- just distressing and adding dots. But, I am now at peace and can move on to the next design in my inspiration journal!

Exhibit A
Added black and white polka dots to the edges of the matting. And, dry embossed dots around the edges of the card. This seems to give it some depth and more personality. By the way, I adore this color combo!

Exhibit B
Added Black dots around scallops and distressed the card with brown cat eye chalk ink. Also, I embossed (with clear embossing powder) swirls. Maybe the swirls are from my sb background, but I like what it added (even if softly) to the finished look.

Surely one day I will find a simple card that doesn't call out to me for further embellishment. I am contemplating the "Simple Card" and what it means (similar to "simple scrapbook" page lay outs) Until then I will continue to struggle with card making! How much is enough and how much is too much?! Each card has its own face that just calls out to the artist (in this case~ ME, Tehe!!) until the FEELING of fulfilment or completion is finally met. I certainly feel I succeeded with these two!

I can't help but ponder, How many of you, in blog land, are never truely happy with your creations? Is that just a struggle we all face?
