Merry Christmas!



My SU "upline" helped me design this beautiful card! Shout out to Brenda! I was having a hard time coming up with ideas for this stamp set. I love how it is a religious theme~ just what DH and I want in a Christmas Card!
Recipe:
Vanilla Card stock, Brushed Gold Card stock, Fiskars water scallop punch, Encore Gold Ink Pad, pop dots, 3 bling, gold chording, gold embossing powder, heat gun.

Blue Willow Tea Cup Stack, Card

Another card I made back in October and I've waited to share with everyone... I mailed these cards out after the Christmas tea party to thank everyone! I am tickled at the design. I stacked the cups as a way to express that the party was over but the memories will last. One of my favorites!!

Place Cards

I am very pleased with myself for making these place cards for a (Mother-Daughter)Blue Willow Christmas tea party! I've saved them to share with you because I didn't want to spoil the surprise for those attending the tea. The names of the attendees were written in the blank space towards the left side of the card. I wish the picture did them justice. They are adorable in person! :)

Fresh Cuts 2, Card

I made this card way back in October for my card swap group- this is for the November card. What fun it was to make!! And, Wow-za, what a presentation it makes. It took forever to color it all in, but other than that it was a breeze to make.

Blue Willow Invitation, Card

Here is an easy card that is hard to resist! Loves it! I'm in the Christmas mood! Maybe because I've been putting together our family Christmas Cards (for the first time every). Now, it is NOT this card, but maybe I should have :P it would have been easier to do & saved some time... hmmm... maybe next year.

Eastern Influences 2, Card

I was inspired again by that wonderful gallery over at split coast stampers! What a fun site to visit! Using the Eastern Influences Stampin Up Stamp Set one more time! I love these images! And, I couldn't resist the stickles!!

Eastern Influences, Card

I luv this stamp set! I got this idea from a stamp gallery and promptly saved it in my favorites to try out. Ya know I'm a sucker for glitter! And, on this image it appears like ice crystals. The Upper left corner of the card has a perfect spot for a greeting, however I am leaving it blank to add a greeting when I use the card. So pretty, so pretty! The original has "season greetings" in the upper corner, making it ovbivious to the idea that the glitter looks like ice. Anyways, what do you think? Ice? or, just shimmer?

Fresh Cuts, Card

Happy Fall! Let the cool weather roll in! Today is a beautiful fall day here in GA and I had to pull out my fave colors to create a fallish card: Old Olive and tangerine! Purty!

Punch art, York Peppermin Patties

I was inspired to make these from the split coast stampers gallery. Aren't these little guys adorable? I have waited to share these little guys with you because I made them for my card swap group.

Very easy to do! just sandwich the spider front and back using glue dots to attach front/back.

Napkin Transfer, Card

I've been waiting to show you this card! I made it for the first meeting of the card swap group I recently joined. I didn't want to spoil the surprise for any of the members who might be looking at my blog :)



In a previous post I showed another card where I used this technique but didn't explain the fun process of "napkin transfer". It is rather simple to do. On the card in this post the napkin is the center design pp.

Steps:
1.) cut the size card stock that you will want to use
2.) peel away ALL layers of your napkin (some are 4 ply). A tip for this is to lightly tear the side of your napkin and you'll find the plys come apart enough for you to peel away.
4.) on a protected ironing board layer: card stock, plastic wrap, napkin, 12x12 waste card stock.
5.) with your craft iron apply heat to the the sandwiched pieces. VERY Slowly move the iron side to side and all around.
6.) the plastic wrap will act as the glue for the napkin to stick to your card stock.
7.) once cooled carefully trim away the napkin to match your card stock size.
Tip: make sure your card stock is pre-cut - I found out the hard way, when cutting both the napkin and cs at the same time the napkin will pull away from the edges of the cs.

Christmas Tags

Getting started on making Christmas tags! I was inspired to create these from the Archivers tag class. I did not attend the class but I loved these two so much that I used my supplies to duplicate them with a "Julia Twist" to make them my own.

Nestled Flower, Card

Christmas?!? LOL, yes, I'm in the mood for Christmas! Here's a nestled flower using Basic Grey Paper and four different sized circle punches. Also, the bottom scallop flower is glued directly on top of the cs, but the others are pop dotted for added dimension.

Card Stock: SU Old Olive (my fave)
PP: Basic Grey
Craft Ink: Garden green, cat eye brown and red (for distressing)
Punches: EK success scallop circle, three various other sizes of regular cirlces
Other: SU silver belt buckle, SU ribbon, pop dots

Envelope Fun, Cards

When it comes time to decorate the envelope I get lazy. A few years ago, at a stamp convention I picked up this rubber stamp. It was unmounted & I simply didn't take the time to mount it~ but, feeling lead to "play" with tools/ stuff that are otherwise collecting dust, I pulled it out and got busy.



These are two envelopes where I stamped the "HB" message (has room to add a postage stamp) and glued patterned paper to the outside flap. It took some time to color in the balloons but I got to play with my new copic markers. Now I'm wondering if I should have picked up a few different designs of this postage rubber stamp design. Too cute!

Tea Bag Birthday, Card

Today is a good day to sit down and enjoy some hot tea. And, right now I am enjoying a cup of Rooibos Coco-Mint, yummy!

This Birthday Card has a special gift inside... it was very easy to make & I think the finished product will be one of my fave card designs for my tea friends.

Napkin Transfer, Card

Hello Blog readers! I hesitate to share this card this early... recently I joined a card swap group where each member creates a card for each member and at the monthly gathering we share our techniques and other creative ideas. This card is using the technique that I will share in the first meeting. To save some suspense for any members that might be reading this, this is not the card that I created for the group. This is actually one of my trials playing with the technique.



Napkin Transfer is fun! And, if it didn't require pulling out the dreading iron & ironing board I'd even dare to say it was relaxing! :) So, what on the card above is the napkin? The blue polka dot and the main table cloth blue flower parts! Once completed the napkin looks like patterned paper and feels like fabric! Very neat!! Now I'm going to be hunting out unique patterned napkins (just what I need, another collection) HA!

Quickutz Pumpkin, Card

In todays card I'm sharing my fall festive mood & with a Birthday card!!


I was inspired by the card I'll share with you tomorrow. Lately I've been going back to basics, playing with tools which have been collecting dust. I've always adored the little quickutz pumpkin & I hope you do too.

Scrapbook LO

A few weeks ago, at the beach, I completed several scrapbook LO's. This is one of my faves. Still cropin' from our NY vacation!



One of the many reason why I love this LO is because I used memorabilia from the trip: metro cards & the actual map we used to navigate through Manhattan. And, of course, journaling! Any time I am able to make Euphemia work it makes me feel better about spending so much time on a single LO! Seems like in the beginning of sbing I managed to use more day to day receipts, maps, post cards, etc... Thanks for stopin' by!

Halloween, Envelopes

I fell into this idea! Man, I love it when that happens!! Okay, so since I was way ahead of the Halloween card making curve, I decided to use my left over Stampin Up! Halloween designer paper to line the inside of the envelopes. The paper is double sided. And, oh my! I discovered that the images showed through the sheerness of the Stampin Up! envelopes, and from the outside of the card it appears as if each envelope is softly "pre-printed" with matching Halloween images!! Take a lookey:



Lining envelopes is not as hard as it may seem. Simply trace your envelope on-top of the pp of your choice. Cut inside the drawn lines. Insert the paper to ensure that the paper does not cover the sticky on the envelope that you will lick to close the envelope. Use your glue stick to apply the pp side you want to show on the outside of the envelop. Slide the pp into the envelope using the dry side of the pp (not the gluey side because it will immediately stick to the envelope and not move deep enough into the envelope). Fold the flap over to crease the pp. Trim any edges from flap. Finally glue the top onto the flap and re-crease several times. Vwa-La!! TIPS: if you want to create the "pre-printed" envelope technique- - make sure you are using double sided patterned paper and sheer envelopes! Because, as you have probably figured out by now, this will only work with sheer envelopes! :)

Halloween 3, Card

A few weeks ago DH and I got the final pieces to our Halloween costume. This will be the first year in AGES that either of us has dressed up. And, to go along with the festive atmosphere I completed the last of my Halloween cards. This simple yet striking card is spotted on page 60 of the "Stamp It Card" magazine. It is a Paper Crafts Magazine special stamp magazine, and if you don't have your copy run to find it! Lots of other neat ideas just waiting to be "stamp-lifted"~ just like this one!!

This card is a size LARGE finished card size: 5x7. Stampin Up! has the perfect card stock with the skulls! I can't wait to send this one to my niece!

Halloween, Card

Hello crafty people! :) I exercised the left side of my brain today with a little forward motion in my craft room! hehhee, created some Halloween cards that I will share with you over the next few days. The card inspiration came directly out of the "Stamp It! Cards" magazine. Have you seen the recent issue? I had to visit 4 LSS & 3 Barnes & Nobles before I found my copy. I'm putting it to good use because I used 2 of the Halloween cards as inspiration for this card (and the one for tomorrow). I did not steer off course from the original designs~ sometimes it is just fun to follow along and copy, copy, copy!

This one is similar to the one on page 86 of the mag. The owl is different, but not much else :) I was first attracted to the oblong shape of the card. To get this shape instead of cutting the 8.5x11 card stock in half width wise, cut it down the center length wise! Easy peasey, and it gives you a different look. Another reason I liked this card is because it allowed me to use my own owl stamp that I already had in my collection. LUB those owls!!

Odd Image, UPS

So, this past Friday I looked out the window to see this sight:

I am not sure what they were doing, but I couldn't help but run to get my camera because it sure looks like one of my deliveries caused some kinda chaos! ROFLOL, I love UPS and I love it when they ring my doorbell. And, having two right outside my house was like a lucky sign or something (especially since they were parked oddly)

Here's a cute and easy card! I've admired this stamp set ever since I saw it for the first time! My mind is going in circles with all kinds of ideas for it. I think it is a versatile set. DH and I were in Borders bookstore today and I saw a card from papertrey that inspired me for this design. I love how it came out!

Haunting Halloween, Card

I'm feeling proactive! I actually made the first of my Halloween cards! These were so much to make because I took some time and used some different techniques that I haven't used in awhile.

Description
1.) to create the cloud skyline I created a circle mask by cutting various sizes of circles and glued them together. Using black chalk I softly dabbed on the chalk and moved the mask around the paper. 2.) The moon is circle cut from yellow paper and chalked edges with orange chalk ink then glittered with yellow glitter.

Upsy Daisy plus Inspired by Nature, Card

hehehhe, yet another Upsy Daisy card for you! And, again in this card I combined it with the Inspired by Nature set. DH says this is his ALL time fave! WOW! I was inspired by the gallery at split coast stampers! What a fun place to visit! It is all mounted on a white card and that just pulls out the white from the pattern paper tearing! Cute!

I pulled out my needle and thread and made some stitch lines along the inside of the pink strip. Most days I don't want to bother threading a needle, but I found this technique another little stress reliever! Can't have enough of those in my life, HA!

Dreams Du Jour, Card

A few weeks passed since I stamped the black and white images for this card. You ever been in one of those "funks" when you just don't want to do anything? I finally forced myself to sit down and color in the images and put this card together. I am excited about the outcome! A cute, sweet card, even if my mood during it's creation was not. Maybe there is something to be said about just "doing it" because now I feel much better! This card makes me smile :)

Scrapbook LO

Did anyone make it to your Local Archivers Scrapbook store this weekend? I was lucky enough to go this past Saturday. They had lots of special make-n-takes. One of the projects was this 2 page LO. I added pictures from our NY trip. Cute! Why don't I ever think of designs like this? Lovin' the blue/brown combo! If it weren't for Archivers, what would I do with my time?

Punches, storage

For those of you who like & use punches you know how difficult it is to find a place and organize them~ they are very bulky and as my collection grows they have quickly become a sore spot in my craft room. This weekend my sweet husband was nice enough to go to our local Wally World and pick up one of those over the door shoe organizers to help me organize my punches! Now, I love looking at them hanging over my door. But, like most things in my scrap room~ I will quickly run out of spots to put them! And, when I receive my latest order from the NEW SU catalog I will be receiving 3 more to add to my growing collection! Oh my!

The "shoe" organizer also came with hooks that fit perfectly over the door!

PS: Now I have an empty drawer where my punches used to be located! Yea!! More shopping!!

From the Garden, Card

This is very similar to the group of cards I posted earlier. But, I am attempting to make it better. And, this time I chose to use a different stamp. It's hard to go wrong with black, white & red! When I do this again, with different colors, the only thing I'd like to change is make the scallop edge a bit longer so it comes closer to the bottom of the card and is more centered on the white card stock.

So, I have the cricut (expression & baby bug), I have quickutz, I have a sidekick, I have a passed down (from my favorite sister) original lever sizzix (which my sister gave up because she got a BIG SHOT) How many die cut machines does a crafty girl need?? But, look at these cute projects SU created with THE BIG SHOT:

Now I just got to figure out ~ from all the stuff in the new catalog, which do I want FIRST?!? These type of dilemmas will make me crazy! :) Or, am I already crazy? Crazy, did someone say Crazy??!!

1. The November issue of Country Living Magazine will have a 21 page promo spread about Stampin Up!

2. Beginning in the new 2009 Spring/Summer Catalogue -- ALL sets will be die-cut, not just new ones!!!!

4.) I didn't know this, but apparently the SU! Brass Templates work in the Big Shot (they work in the Cuttlebug too with the proper sandwich)
