Technique Trigger Index Cards

As promised, these are the index cards created from the Archivers stamp class which I took a few years ago. I am sure most of you are familiar with the tips provided below, however I hope you will find the resource as a nice refresher and maybe (like me) you will be reminded of something that will spark your creativity! To save your eyes I will re-type the journaling below each scanned picture.

VersaMark on Cardstock: Creates a "watermark" image, colorless ink takes on a shade of the paper that it's used on, Great for embossing. VersaMark with Chalk: Chalk sticks to the ink, Creates a soft image.
------------------------------------
StazOn Ink: Designed for non-porous surfaces, Solvent-based (ink stays on top of the surface), Medium drying time, Permanent, Great for embossing, Only in basic colors available, Requires a special Cleaner. ---------------------------------------------------
Foam Stamps & Acrylic Paint: Casual, textured look, Less expensive because foam stamps have a shorter life span, Foam stamps also work with ink. -----------------------------------
Markers: Bold color, Precise application
Chalk: Soft color, casual application, can be erased
Watercolor Pencils: Soft color, painterly look
----------------------------------
Clear Embossing Powder with Colored, Pigment Ink: Clear powder shows the color of the ink.
Colored Embossing Powder with Clear ink: Colored powder shows its own color.
Holographic Embossing Powder: Creates a holographic image when used with clear ink.
----------------------------------------------
Pigment Ink: Thicker ink, vivid colors, slow drying (can heat to dry), Available in many colors & metallics, Waterproof, Great for embossing, Doesn't dry on non-porous surfaces.
Birlliance Ink: thicker ink, Metallic, slighly opaque finish, Medium drying time, Waterproof, Great for embossing, Dries on vellum.
----------------------------------------------------
Dye Ink: Fast drying, Some are waterproof & Archival, Not for embossing, May fade over time.
Chalk ink: Soft, Chalky, matte finish, Fast drying, Permanent, Not for embossing.
---------------------------------------
How to stamp: Apply ink to the stamp, Stamp straight down, applying even pressure, Don't rock the stamp, Lift straight up, Practice on scratch paper.
Tip: the smaller the stamp, the less pressure needed.
Tip: clean your stamps after use to prevent muddy ink pads.
----------------------------------------
How to Heat Emboss:
  1. Use "Static Away" to eliminate static on the paper, tap off
  2. Stamp image
  3. Cover image with embossing powder
  4. Tap off excess powder into tidy tray
  5. Melt powder with a heat tool
    1. Watch for a visual Change
    2. Flat image= overheated!!
