Embroidery

My recent passion is embroidery! Back in December Mrs. Gladys gifted me one of her hand embroidered kitchen towels. And, I immediately requested that she teach me how! I've been practicing in between scrapbooking, working and making cards. Also, Mrs. Glady's let me borrow her vintage embroidery patterns. Patterns are not as accessible as I thought! I've been all over searching for useful patterns and her vintage patterns are the best I've found thus far.

The fist stitch Mrs. Gladys taught me was the backstitch. Very easy to do. But, the back of the piece looked like the front of hers. So, my next class would be the stitch that she used on her pieces. Which create an outline on the front of the piece and the back looks like a running stitch. Mrs. Gladys is an excellent teacher. We have enjoyed each other's company and fellowship!!
