Bamboo Panda, Card

Going through the scs gallery I found another technique. This time "faux silk" called my name! On this card the bamboo back ground is my version of faux silk. To glue the tissue paper onto the white cs I used a glue stick. However, the image didn't look silk enough to me so I then glue sticked a blank tissue paper on top of the first one to create more layers. And, the texture looked too dry for my taste so I added a small layer of modge podge to add gloss to the top.

faux silk technique
Stamp your image on tissue paper. Crumble the paper into a wad. Smooth out the tissue paper. Using a glue stick or modge podge adhere the tissue paper to a neutral card stock. Trim to fit your card. Pretty simple and fun to do!

A closer view...

I hope this picture shows you the pop dotted panda and a closer view of the "silk".

Also, to make the ridges in the green bazzil paper I used my "scor-it" tool. I have to say I like the finished card. However, it reminded me of why I do not design my own cards very often- this took me 3 days at my craft table!! I moved all the elements around with different card stock colors before I figured out what it needed to be complete. Ultimately, the card "told me" what it wanted to look like. But, it took 3 days for me to listen! Am I spending too much time at my craft table? So much time that cs is talking to me? Oh my... shh, don't tell anyone I said that! :)
