Bookmark Beauty

With all this reading I've been doing--- bookmarks are required! Currently I am reading three books at one time. depending on my mood for the evening, I pick up the book that meets my fancy.

During a recent scrapbook retreat, my dear friend (Monica){shout out} made several adorable corner book marks. She made so many of them (even for curious strangers) that she had the pattern memorized! She could make them in a zip and all with her special creative pizazz! Thinking about it now, maybe I'll give her bookmark a try next!

The bookmark above is a lot smaller than I expected but it fits nicely on the corner of a book page. Here are the basic directions:
1.Cut a square 3x3
2.notch three sides at 1 1/2 inches each
3.Score the two sides at the notch lines
4.fold over the score lines to create the ear flaps
5.turn over the piece and tape the two flaps down with scotch tape
6.punch the longest edge (and, I punched a second cs to layer the punch line)
7.decorate the front of your bookmark
8.cut a square 2 1/16 x 2 1/16 and cut it on the diagonal. Use one of the triangles to cover the back taped ear flaps.
