My crafty friend Monica (mybusybusylife.blogspot.com) taught me how to make envelopes for my odd shaped hand made cards. It is really easy to do! And, it gives another use to that white paper every scrapbooker has if they use top loading albums!
This months card for the SU Hostess Club was larger than a medium sized envelope. So, I passed along this information as the second project for the club.
Stamps
• Build a Blossom Paper
• 12x12 Thin Card Stock
Ink
• Classic Ink, Old Olive Accessories
• Wet Glue & Double sided tape
• Scissors
• Bone Folder
• Paper trimmer
• Eyelet Border edge punch
• Pencil
Instructions:
1. Place your card in the center of your 12x12 thin card stock.
2. Fold the right and left margins of the card stock in toward your card. Score with your bone folder. Fold side margins back out flat.
3. Fold down the top and bottom margins of the card stock in toward your card. Score with your bone folder. Fold the top and bottom margins back out flat.
4. Remove your card from the center of the card stock and set aside. Lay out the envelope card stock so it is flat in front of you. With your scissors or paper trimmer, cut out the four corners and throw away.
5. Using your paper trimmer, trim the left and right margins to 1.25”inch on each side.
6. Using a pencil mark 1.25” from either side of the length on the top edge. Using your scissors or paper trimmer, cut an angle from the pencil mark to the score line on both sides on the edge of the flap.
7. Put two rows of double sided glue along the edge of the bottom flap. Fold the bottom half of the envelope card stock up and press along the length of the bottom edges securing it to the side margins.
8. Cut the bottom edge of the top flap with a decorative edge punch.
Turn your envelope to the front and stamp leaves to the bottom left with Old Olive classic ink
