DAD Frame

Father's Day 2011 was very special in our house this year because it was Matt's first year celebrating as a Father! To commemorate this special day I wanted to make something special using my crafty talents :) I found this idea on the Martha Stewart website. I was excited to pull out my gypsy for the first time on my own! And, I successfully welded the letters together and used the layer worksheets to make a matching mat "DAD".

From the front it looks pretty basic. And, I guess it is. But, I'm proud of it since I created it from scratch. The "DAD" is supported by basic paper clips which are glued on by scotch tape. And, covered over with matching card stock for a clean look.

Originally I had grill attached to the words but after it was all put together it just didn't seem to fit. Then I wanted to add blue flowers to make it look a little more something. But, after the stickles dried I decided I should just leave it as it is and call it done. It was a pretty simple craft but it made a BIG impression on Matt, who is bringing it to work to put on his desk. Awww!!!
